Cape Cod Frosty Fleet

The Cape Cod Frosty Fleet sails from mid October to Jan. 1 and from the last Sunday in February through the end of April. The fleet also hosts the Frosty North American Championship at the Hyannis Yacht Club on the first weekend in May. Cape Cod fleet races start at Noon on Sundays, mostly at Wychmere Harbour in Harwich, but sometimes in other locations ranging from Osterville to Orleans. The Cape Cod Frosty is a 6' 4" pram bowed dinghy with 25 sq. ft. of sail area that is sailed single-handed. dispite its small size it can accomodate large sailors. There are successful Frosty sailors who are 6' 4" tall and/or weigh up to 230 lbs. For more information about the boat and the Class Association, see the Frosty Web Site.

DC-10 Frostbite Fleet

The DC-10 fleet is in the Falmouth area. The boat was designed by Douglas Cooper and is 10 feet LOA--hence the name. The fleet encouranges sailors to race with them as their guests for two weeks. You don't have to own or charter a DC-10 to join the fun; in fact, they need more sailors than boats to make their system of rotating through the boats and race committee work. Interclub Frostbite Fleet

The Interclub Frostbite Feet races every Sunday at Noon at the Hyannis Yacht Club from Oct. 15 to Jan. 1, and during March and April. The Interclub is an 11' 6" dinghy with a single 70 sq. ft. marconi rigged sail. It is sailed by two crew. There are currently 24 boats in the fleet and the sailors range in age from teens to people in their fifties. Racing abilities also vary a lot. All are welcome to join in.
